Testimonials
The trip was awesome and I think really well planned. It
was great to have you there so we knew what to expect
and what to do when we arrived at Denpasar at the
airport and great already having the $25 on us. Having
Wayan & Eddie as drivers was awesome (and a must I would
say) and it was good to get some money so early on
before we really needed it. The accommodation was great,
loved them all and would go back to them anytime. I
think you did an awesome job organising us and you were
very patient while we got to grips with things over
there - your love of Bali and the people showed through
and I don't think I would change a thing about our trip.
Cheers

Thanks Bern for organising a wonderful trip to a
gorgeous destination. The itinerary was great. I
especially loved the cooking class at Laka Leke, Bike
Baik trip through countryside and villages, getting to
snuggle a baby orangutan at Bali Safari, the totally
indulgent spa treatment - actually I loved it all! It
was great having a tour guide who had such a good
knowledge of the place and it's people, as well as
things like the currency conversion and the best places
to buy certain things, not to mention the restaurants.
Our accommodation in Ubud, Pemuteran and Legian was
fabulous and I would visit these hotels again next time,
especially Alam Indah in Ubud who served the most
amazing breakfasts. Everything on the trip was taken
care of with the minimum of fuss. For both the first
timer and for someone who has visited Bali before, this
'girls only' trip is a fabulous way to see and feel this
beautiful island. Can't thank you enough Bern and wish
you all the very best for future adventures.
Terima Kasih,
Vicki

Summary of Bern’s Bali Tour 2011
Another fantastic fun filled holiday in Bali, full of
culture and life experiences with an awesome group of 4
lovelies who were, the adventurous Kelly, the gorgeous
Kate, the serene Moana, and the curious Viv, age range
27-80 plus me the no sense of direction guide………”are we
there yet” yep we are 5minutes away, its just around the
corner, 30minutes later………lucky there is always
something to look at in Bali even while in the van.
Arrived safe and sound into Bali to the waiting Kelly
who had arrived a day earlier (land package only as
lives in W.A with great flight options) and our friend
and driver Wayan Adiarsa. Off to Ubud we go, the look on
the girls faces………priceless. A highlight for me is
seeing first timers reaction to the crazy traffic.
Changed some nzd to rupiah and got around 6800 to the $
NZ Dollar so $NZ200 gave us 1360000 rupiah :-)
We
had 4 nights in Ubud at the storybook Alam Jiwa hotel,
it is a sister hotel to the Alam Indah listed on the
itinerary (as they had renovations happening). While in
Ubud we paid a visit to the birthing unit Bumi Sehat to
drop off donations, did the cooking class at Laka Leke
restaurant, and Baik Bike an organised day out bicycling
through villages and witnessing daily life in Bali.
Shopping at the local markets and exploring in our down
time was a must along with loads of rest and relaxation
falling into the Bali way of life.
Off we go to the top north west of the island to a
fishing village area known as Pemuteran. A very scenic
drive on the way there with stops at a strawberry farm,
Bedugal lake and temple, Munduk waterfall and any other
stops requested. We had 3 nights at the beach resort
called Taman Sari, while here we enjoyed lots of down
time and had a superb day out snorkelling Menjangen
Island. Very calm waters and so much to see, with a
great guide who would point out lots of different sea
creatures to us. After 3 nights of beaching it we are on
the move again.
Onto Legian we go via the very picturesque route of
Pupuan and its gorgeous rice terraces, stopping at a
local warung for a coffee break and feeding the pet bats
a coca cola and bread roll. We stayed at the Kumala
Pantai in Legian for 2 nights before checking into our
home away from home the Andari Villas, a definite
highlight of our trip and the perfect place to retreat
to from the busy streets of Legian and Kuta. Our stay in
Legian was fun filled and busy with day trips to Bali
Safari Park, Uluwatu temple, Jimbaran Bay, Amlapura
orphanage, Tegallalang, and lots of shopping, eating,
drinking, dancing to be had.
I
cannot speak highly enough of my drivers and friends
Wayan Adiarsa and his nephew Eddy they are such an asset
to the island of Bali and true gentlemen, still with
that charming Balinese sense of humour. Also to the
greatest bunch of chicks who have made these tours a
laugh a minute including my 2010 girls,
the gorgeous
Shelley, Vicki and Ali, my 2011 girls, Viv, Kelly, Moana
and Kate, thank you so much for the opportunity of
sharing the place I love with you all. I believe as
woman we are so busy in our daily lives looking after
everyone else that these tours are a reminder that if we
look after ourselves once in a while then everyone
around us benefits from the recharge we have had.
